Vera Persijn is the history teacher of Ongezellig’s main cast and acts as a sort of antagonist throughout all of the Deels. She is a depressed alcoholic and smoker (Snopes approved note: she actually just drinks non-alcoholic beverages and smokes fake cigarettes) who had aspirations of becoming a rockstar when she was young, but round up becoming an educator. She is not particularly fond of the three sisters and has a special disdain towards Mymy, describing her as a megalomaniac with a Napoleon complex.

Racial background

The surname "Persijn" suggests that she's the descendant of one of the oldest and noblest families of the present-day Netherlands, whose forefather is said to have returned from Greece in 990. They ruled the areas of Waterland and Amsterdam for almost all of the High Middle Ages and their coat of arms is said to have inspired the current Flag of Amsterdam. Basically Vera is an ARYAN HYPERWARRIOR from AGARTHA and if you haven't kneeled yet, you should do it now. She also possesses natural purple hairs and purple/greyish eyes, undoubtedly because of her inherent Aryan Vril flowing through her veins. Despite all of this, some (((Zaryans))) jokingly say that she's actually Ashkenazi.

Personality

Vera is the walking stereotype of the teacher in her middle age crisis, only doing the bare minimum for her job because she's required to, radiating a gloomy and depressive aura, and featuring an internal repressed rage, which finds its way out when she has to put up with the TND girls' shenanigans, such as in Deel 2, where she hits Mymy with a bottle, or in Deel 3, where she shows a sliver of her rage to the 'zellig girls. She thinks lowly of her students, not hesitating to call them dumb or by belittling their wishes, dreams and behaviours in her notes. She's also somewhat hard to fool, as seen during the third deel, when she calls out Mymy for saying that "she's from Japsterdam, Drenthe", but not when Maya displays a presentation done by Coco and Mymy. It is to be noted that she was suspicious of it, but didn't look further because "it wasn't racist".

Attitude to TND

At the start of Deel 3, Vera insults Mymy, Maya and Coco, by calling them mongoloids, so it can be assumed that she thinks that some races are not as smart as others^{(DSL 'liggers really don't know neither dutch language nor culture to understand that "mongoloid" literally means "dumb" GEG)}. In her notes, she also mocks Cleo's dream of becoming a musician, probably because she inherently knows that niggers are only good at stealing and destroying stuff built by white people. Although there's no ultimate proof that she supports TND, she's already predisposed to it thanks to the previously mentioned points.

• Her character was inspired by one of Massa's school assignments.

• Her hairstyle is taken from April May from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

• She's not a hag.
