Maya is accompanied by two adoptive sisters [[Coco]] and [[Mymy]], assuming that they’re all 16 years old during the events of the pilot, Maya would be the youngest of the three. She struggles with [[wikipedia:Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder|ADD]] (disputed as its validity isn't something confirmed in the show and evidence suggests that Maya only assumes that she has ADD) and social anxiety. == Appearance ==
Maya has a tan/light skin (depending of the scene) skin and green eyes, shaped like Coco's. Her hair, supposed to be brown but is black because Maya doesn't shower often, is arranged in a bun on the top of her head, with some hair covering Maya's left eye for most of the pilot, but appears to be quite long when untied, as seen in the credits scenes. As for her outfit, Maya wears a red hoodie, black pants and red shoes when at school, to hint the fact she doesn't care much about her wardrobe since she's ongezellig. At home, or when sleeping however, Maya's clothes consist of a seemingly oversized pull (As it seems to not cover her right shoulder but does cover the bottom.) And stockings with red-white stripes. It is confirmed in deel 4 that Maya wears black eyeliner.

== Racial Background ==
Maya was born in [[wikipedia:North Brabant|North Brabant]] in the town of Baarle-Nassau, making her the only one of the 3 sisters to be born in the [[Netherlands]], though is normally referred to as a Belgian by other characters, mainly Mymy. She is multiracial and is of Dutch, Chinese, Indonesian, and Indian origins[https://files.catbox.moe/zd0n4s.mp3]. However, despite all the race-mixing that her ancestors did, Maya still managed to have green eyes, making her the most aryan of the three sisters based on eye color (Mymy wears blue contact lenses.). However, she has a distinctly mongoloid eye shape, as confirmed in deel 4.

== Biography ==
Maya was born on September 21st 2002 in the North Brabant province of the [[Netherlands]]. She spent the first 4 or so years of her life with her father, mother and a cat which she loved.

Around the time she was 4, her parents decided to adopt two other sisters for unknown reasons. Those sisters were Mymy, from Japan and Coco, an Afrikaner girl from South Africa. The latter of those two was allergic to cats, which forced the parents to get rid of it.

== Personality ==
Maya is socially undeveloped and wracked with anxiety. She has difficulty interacting with others, especially those outside of her family. Despite being reclusive, she is shown to have a deep desire for connections and envies Coco’s sociability. She has an interest in several different forms of media, including music and video games. She self-inserts in The Sims 4 and watches erotic anime, a sign that she could be using media consumption as a coping mechanism for her loneliness. Whilst Maya is shown to be generally unhappy, we can see in her photos from Deel 1 that in the past, she was happier, and that she got more unhappy probably due to her sisters.
